Circuit/System Verification

- Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Verify that no other DTCs are set except for P2299.
- If any other DTCs are set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Go to next step: If no other DTCs are not set
- If any other DTCs are set
- Verify the brake pedal position sensor or the brake pedal is not binding causing residual brake pressure to be detected.
- If a condition is found
Repair or replace the applicable component.
- Go to next step: If a condition is not found
- If a condition is found
- Verify the scan tool body control module Brake Pedal Applied parameter changes between Active and Inactive when applying and releasing the brake pedal.
- If the parameter does not change
Refer to Stop Lamps Malfunction .
- Go to next step: If the parameter changes
- If the parameter does not change
- Verify the scan tool brake system control module Calculated Input Rod Position parameter changes between -2 mm and 61.75 mm when applying and releasing the brake pedal.
- If the parameter does not change
Replace the A104 Brake Master Cylinder.
- Go to next step: If the parameter does change
- If the parameter does not change
- All OK.
NOTE:
DTC P2299 may set if the brake pedal is applied while accelerating at the same time.
