Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

DTC C10DA 16, C10DA 17, C10DA 84, and C10DA 85

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the B22 Brake Pedal Position Sensor, ignition ON.
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between low reference circuit terminal 1 and B+.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate
    1. Test circuit 5360 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    2. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
  3. Test for 4.8 - 5.2 V between voltage reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If less than 4.8 V
    1. Test circuit 5359 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test circuit 5359 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • If greater than 5.2 V
    1. Test circuit 5359 for a short to voltage.
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found.
    2. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If between 4.8 - 5.2 V
  4. Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If 1 V or greater
    1. Test circuit 5359 for a short to voltage.
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found.
    2. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  5. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between voltage reference terminal 1 and signal circuit terminal 3.
  6. NOTE:

The scan tool Brake Pedal Applied parameter will change to Active for 2 s as the 3 A fused jumper wire is connected between the voltage reference circuit and the signal circuit and then default to Inactive. This is normal operation.

  7. Verify the scan tool Brake Pedal Applied parameter is Active for 2 s before defaulting to Inactive.
    • If not Active
    1. Test circuit 5361 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test circuit 5361 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If Active
  8. Test or replace the B22 Brake Pedal Position Sensor.

DTC C10DA 54, C10DA 78

  1. Ignition on, verify DTCs C10DA 54 and C10DA 78 are not set.
    • If DTC C0277 4B or C10DA 78 are set
    1. Perform the brake pedal position sensor learn procedure for the K9 Body Control Module. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
    2. Verify the DTC does not reset while operating the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
      • If the DTC resets, replace the B22 Brake Pedal Position Sensor.
      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
    3. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If DTC C0277 4B or C10DA 78 are NOT set
  2. All OK.

DTC C10DA 27

  1. Verify DTC C10DA 27 is not set.
    • If DTC C10DA 27 is set
    1. Replace the B22 Brake Pedal Position Sensor.
    2. Perform the brake pedal position sensor learn procedure for the K9 Body Control Module. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
    3. Verify the DTC does not reset while operating the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
      • If the DTC resets, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
    4. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If DTC C10DA 27 is not set
  2. All OK.
