Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:

Do not repair or replace the seat stitching or seams in the seat back trim cover with an internal mounted seat side airbag module. Replace the complete seat back trim cover from the OEM. Non-OEM seat stitching may cause improper airbag deployment which could result in personal injury.

    Front Seat (2) - Remove - Front Seat Removal and Installation , or Front Seat Removal and Installation (Blackwing)

    Front Seat Cushion Front Finish Cover Bolt (1) - Remove

  3. Front Seat Cushion Outer Finish Cover Bolt -Front (2) - Remove
  4. Front Seat Cushion Front Finish Cover (3) - Remove

    Front Seat Cushion Outer Finish Cover Bolt -Rear (1) - Remove

  6. Squeeze retainer to release.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Front Seat Adjuster Finish Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Raise the front seat head restraint (3) to gain access to the head restraint guide bezel (1).

  12. Twist the head restraint guide bezel (1) counter clockwise and push the bezel upward on the head restraint adjuster rod.
  13. Using a suitable pointed or flat bladed tool, push the head restraint clip (2) rearward while pulling upward on the front seat head restraint (3).

    Using a suitable flat-bladed tool, slide the tool on the outside of the head restraint guide (1) until it finds the slot. Then push the plastic slot inward and pull upward to remove the guide from the seat back frame.

    Use a thin flat-bladed tool to release the upper spring clip retainers.

  16. Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel (1) - Remove

    Front Seat Back Rear Lower Cover Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

  18. Detach the front seat back rear lower cover bottom bungee clips from the cushion pan.

    Reposition the front seat back cover and pad as needed.

  21. Front Seat Back Ventilation Blower Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
  22. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  23. Release the retainers.

    Reposition the front seat back cover and pad as needed.

  26. Front Seat Outboard Seat Back Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
  27. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the module electrical connector.
  28. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  29. Remove the front seat outboard seat back airbag (2) through the bottom opening of the chute.

    Disconnect all electrical connectors.

  31. Disengage the J-channel retainers from the seat back frame.
  32. Remove the front seat back cover and pad (1) as an assembly.
