Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. GM5342244
    NOTE:

    The rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1) and washers (2) are serviced as a rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer kit consisting of 2 bolts and 1 washer.

    Remove and DISCARD the 6 rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1).

  3. Remove and DISCARD the 3 wheel drive shaft washers (2).
  4. GM5459257

    Reposition the rear wheel drive shaft (1) to clear the rear axle shaft.

  5. GM5459262

    Using the appropriate tool, release the rear axle shaft (1) from the differential carrier.

  6. Rear Axle Shaft- Left Side (1) - Remove
  7. Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Retaining Ring (2) - Remove and DISCARD
