Inspection Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. GM5482906

    Clean any dirt from around the differential carrier fill plug (1).

  3. Place a suitable drain pan under the differential carrier.
  4. Differential Carrier Fill Plug (1) - Remove
  5. Check the differential fluid level. It should be even with the bottom of the fill plug hole to no lower than 2 mm (0.08 in) below the opening.
  6. Add fluid, if necessary. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    7. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  7. Differential Carrier Fill Plug (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  8. Remove the drain pan.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
