Limited Slip Differential Diagnosis

1 Did you review the general description and perform the necessary inspections? - Go to Step 2 Go to Symptoms - Locking/Limited Slip Rear Axle 
2 Measure the rotational force of the axle using the following procedure:
  1. Block the front wheels.
  2. Place the transmission in Neutral with the parking brake released.
  3. Raise the right rear tire off the ground. Confirm the left rear tire remains on the ground. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  4. Remove the tire and wheel. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  5. Using the CH-49400  Remover and a digital torque wrench, slowly turn the wheel in the drive direction to obtain a peak measurement of the rotational force of the axle. Check in 90 degree increments for two wheel revolutions to obtain a peak measurement.
  6. Repeat the procedure for the other wheel drive shaft.

Does the force measure outside the specified range?		 230 mm Axle
110 - 190 N.m (81 - 140 lb ft)		 Go to Step 3 System OK
3 Repair the rear axle.
Did you complete the repair?		 - Go to Step 4 -
4 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?		 - System OK Go to Step 2
