Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the M135 Differential Lock Motor.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between the low reference circuit terminal 8 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Test circuit 7977 for an open/high resistance
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Replace the K164 Differential Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K164 Differential Control Module.
- Test for a short to ground on circuit 7978.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Ignition ON.
- Test circuit 7978 for a short to voltage.
- If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found.
- Ignition OFF.
- Test circuit 7978 for an open/high resistance.
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Replace the M135 Differential Lock Motor.
- Operate the vehicle under the Conditions for Running the DTC.
- Verify the DTC does not reset.
- If the DTC resets
Replace the K164 Differential Control Module
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
- If the DTC resets
- A fault is not currently present and may be an intermittent condition.
