Component Testing

S2L Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Left

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S2L Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Left
  3. Test for 5, 300 to 5, 800 ohms between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 3 & Ground terminal 1
    • If not between 5, 300 and 5, 800 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2L Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Left

    • Go to next step: If between 5, 300 and 5, 800 ohms 
  4. Press and hold the switch: S2L Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Left
  5. Test for 1, 300 to 1, 440 ohms between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 3 & Ground terminal 1
    • If not between 1, 300 and 1, 440 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2L Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Left

    • Go to next step: If between 1, 300 and 1, 440 ohms 
  6. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S2L Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Left

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  7. All OK.

S2R Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Right

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S2R Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Right
  3. Test for 600 to 660 ohms between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 4 & Signal terminal 3
    • If not between 600 and 660 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2R Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Right

    • Go to next step: If between 600 and 660 ohms 
  4. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 1
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S2R Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Right

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  5. Press and hold the switch: S2R Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Right
  6. Test for 600 to 660 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 1
    • If not between 600 and 660 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2R Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Right

    • Go to next step: If between 600 and 660 ohms 
  7. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S2R Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Right

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  8. All OK.
