Installation Procedure

  1. GM5299624

    Connect the electrical connector.

  2. Knock Sensor (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Knock Sensor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Install the generator (1) with the lower generator mounting bolt (2).

    Generator Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  6. Generator Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Intake manifold is shown transparent for graphic clarity.

    Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (2) - Install

  8. Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) @ Generator - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Radiator Inlet Hose Bracket (2) - Install

  11. Radiator Inlet Hose Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Throttle Body (3) - Install

  13. Retainer Spring (1) - Install

    Using an appropriate tool, rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise and hold tension.

    Accessory Drive Primary Belt (1) - Install

  16. GM5335089

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install

  17. GM5335087

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Install

  18. Install the oil fill cap.
  19. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
