Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Oil Filler Cap - Remove
Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Remove
- Intake Manifold Cover (2) - Remove
- Install the oil filler cap after removal of the intake manifold cover to prevent debris from falling into the engine.
- CAUTION:
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) line is tamper resistant and must always be replaced once it is removed. The fittings connected to the PCV line must also be replaced if they are damaged when the PCV line is removed. To reduce the risk of damage to the fittings, use a suitable cutting tool and carefully cut the connections away.
Using a suitable cutting tool, carefully cut the 2 positive crankcase ventilation tube connectors (1).
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (2) - Remove and DISCARD
Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Tank Solenoid Valve Tube (1) - Disconnect and reposition - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Loosen
Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Clamp (1) - Loosen
- Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose (2) - Reposition
- Retainer Spring (3) - Disengage
Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Remove
- NOTE:

Air Conditioning Condenser Hose Nut (1) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Evaporative Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose (2) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Large (3) - Remove and DISCARD
- NOTE:

Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (1) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Small (2) - Remove and DISCARD
Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Nut (2) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (1) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Clip Nut (1) - Remove
Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Hose Nut (4) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (3) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Condenser Hose Seal (2) - Remove and DISCARD
- Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal (1) - Remove and DISCARD
Front Brake Pipe Nut (1) - Remove
- Cap the front brake pipe union to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
- Front Brake Pipe Retainer (2) - Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- NOTE:

Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove
- Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
- Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Remove
Front Brake Pipe Nut (1) - Remove
- Plug the front brake hose inlet to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
- Maneuver the front brake pipe (2) out of the vehicle.
