Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  3. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    NOTE:

    Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.

    Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (3) - Remove [2x]

  5. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]
  6. Engine Front Splash Shield (2) - Remove
  7. GM5483727

    { If equipped } Retainer Clip (1) - Unclip [2x]

  8. { If equipped } Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor Harness (2) @ Front Brake Hose - Remove
  9. GM5483728

    Front Brake Hose Fitting Bolt (1) - Remove

  10. GM5483729

    Retainer Clip (1) - Unclip [2x]

  11. Front Wheel Speed SensorHarness (2) @ Front Brake Hose - Remove
  12. { If equipped } Retainer Clip (3) - Unclip [2x]
  13. { If equipped } Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor Harness (4) - @ Front Brake HoseRemove
  14. GM5456720

    Front Brake Hose Fitting (1) - Remove

  15. Front Brake Hose Washer (3) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
  16. Front Brake Hose (2) @ Front Brake Caliper - Remove
  17. Plug the front brake hose outlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  18. Plug the front brake caliper inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Front Brake Hose Retainer (1) - Remove

  20. Front Brake Pipe Nut (3) - Remove
  21. Front Brake Hose (2) - Remove
  22. Plug the front brake hose outlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  23. Cap the front brake pipe to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
