Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Using the appropriate trim tool, remove the left side and right side windshield wiper arm finish caps (1) from the windshield wiper arms (3).

  3. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]
  4. Grasp the outer end of the windshield wiper arms (3) and gently rock the arms back and forth to remove them from the windshield wiper transmission pivot shafts.

    Apply two layers of masking tape around the top edge of the left side and right side service parts to prevent paint damage.

  6. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully release the left side and right side air inlet grille panel extension clips.
  7. Remove the left side and right side air inlet grille panel extensions (1) from the air inlet grille panels and upper front fenders.

    Front Compartment Side Sight Shield Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [6x]

    Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]

  11. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]

  13. Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [6x]

  15. Disconnect the windshield washer nozzle hose from the windshield washer pump hose.
  16. Lift the front edge of the air inlet grille panel (2) and slide the panel forward from both hood hinges to remove.

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Remove

    Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.

  19. Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
  20. Slide the windshield wiper system module (2) inboard to release the grommet from the plenum and remove the windshield wiper system module (2) from the vehicle.

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

    Plenum Front Panel Nut (1) - Remove [3x]

  24. Plenum Front Panel Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]
  25. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  26. Pull the forward lamp wiring harness (3) out from the plenum front panel.

  28. Plenum Front Panel Nut (2) - Remove [3x]

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake Fluid Level Sensor - Disconnect

  31. Remove and properly dispose of the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir.

    Using a suitable tool, remove the clutch master cylinder reservoir hose (1) from the master cylinder reservoir.

  33. Install a cap or plug to the exposed hose and clutch master cylinder fittings in order to prevent fluid loss and contamination.

    Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (3) - Remove

  35. Lift the front of the brake master cylinder reservoir (1) upwards with the brake master cylinder reservoir grommets (2) attached and remove and DISCARD from the brake master cylinder.
