Installation Procedure

  1. GM5896247

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (3) @ Engine Block - Install NEW

  2. Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Turbocharger Coolant Feed Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  5. Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger (1) - Remove
  6. GM5880453

    Turbocharger Bolt (1) - Install and tighten in sequence [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe (3) @ Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger - Install

  8. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) @ Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger - Install NEW [2x]
  9. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW [2x]

  11. Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe (1) - Install

    Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

  14. Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Washer (2) - Install NEW
  15. Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Fitting Clip (2) - Install

  17. Positive Assurance Cap (1) - Install

    Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Install

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  20. GM5872277

    Turbocharger Exhaust Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  21. Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter (1) - Install
  22. GM5872256

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

  23. Connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.[2x]

    Catalytic Converter Brace (2) - Install

  25. Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

    Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  27. With the aid of an assistant, install the exhaust muffler (1).

    Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Insulator-Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

    Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Floor Panel Reinforcement (2) - Install

  36. Floor Panel Number 4 Cross Bar Reinforcement Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Install

  38. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  39. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  40. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  41. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Right Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Install

  43. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  44. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  45. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  46. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Tire Front Air Deflector- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

  48. Rear Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  49. Lower the vehicle.

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe (3) - Install

  52. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW [2x]
  53. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Retaining Clip (1) - Install

    Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Install

    Retainer Spring (3) - Engage

  57. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose (2) - Install
  58. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

  60. Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Tank Solenoid Valve Tube (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Install the NEW positive crankcase ventilation fresh air tube (2) and secure the 2 positive crankcase ventilation tube connectors (1).

    Oil Filler Cap - Remove

  63. Intake Manifold Cover (2) - Install
  64. Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  65. Oil Filler Cap - Install
  66. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
