Installation Procedure

  1. GM5866934

    Radiator Outlet Hose (1) - Install

  2. GM5866945

    Install the radiator outlet hose (2) to the right side charge air cooler ensuring that it is fully seated.

  3. Install the radiator outlet hose retainer (3) into the radiator outlet hose connector.
  4. Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (1) @ Charge Air Cooler Bracket - Install

    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Front Wheelhouse Liner- Right Side (3) - Install - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement , or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Blackwing)

    Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Cooler Fan - Install

  7. Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (1) @ Radiator Outlet Hose Bracket - Install

    Radiator Outlet Hose (1) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  9. Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Radiator Outlet Hose (4) @ Radiator Outlet Pipe - Install

  11. Radiator Outlet Hose (3) @ Engine Oil Cooler Adapter - Install
  12. Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type 
  13. Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Install

  15. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  16. Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  17. Install all retainers and wiring harnesses to the air cleaner assembly as necessary.
  18. Connect the 2 mass airflow sensor electrical connectors.

    Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Install

  20. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
  21. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (2) - Install
  22. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]

  24. Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  25. Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
  26. Install all wiring harness retainers to the front end sheet metal cross braces.

    Radiator Air Upper Baffle- Upper (3) - Install

  28. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  29. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [5x]

    Transmission Control Module (1) @ Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

  31. Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

    Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Control Module (1) - Install

  34. Connect the electrical connectors.

    Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install

  36. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (4) @ Engine Radiator - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type 
  37. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Control Module Bracket - Install
  38. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type 
  39. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  40. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716) 
  41. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
