Static Fill Procedure

- Prepare a quantity of coolant equal to the cooling system capacity.
- Inspect the concentration of the coolant mixture using GE-26568 Coolant and Battery Fluid Tester.
- With a cold system, add coolant to the fill line on the radiator surge tank.
- Start the engine and allow to the engine to idle in PARK with the parking brake engaged.
- Slowly fill the coolant mixture until the coolant level stabilizes at the fill line on the radiator surge tank.
- Install the radiator surge tank cap.
- Run the engine at 2000 to 2500 RPM until the engine reaches normal operating temperature.
- Allow the engine to idle for 3 minutes.
- Shut the engine OFF.
- Allow the engine to cool and remove the radiator surge tank cap.
- Repeat steps 3 - 10 until the coolant level has completely stabilized at the fill line on the radiator surge tank.
- Inspect the concentration of the engine coolant using the GE-26568 Coolant and Battery Fluid Tester.
- If necessary, add coolant to the fill line on the radiator surge tank.
- Install the radiator surge tank cap.
- Rinse away any excess coolant from the engine and the engine compartment.
- Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.

NOTE:
Use a 50/50 mixture of DEX-COOL antifreeze and clean, drinkable water.
