Draining Procedure (Engine Radiator)
With a pressurized cooling system, the coolant temperature in the radiator can be considerably higher than the boiling point of the solution at atmospheric pressure. Removal of the surge tank cap, while the cooling system is hot and under high pressure, causes the solution to boil instantaneously with explosive force. This will cause the solution to spew out over the engine, the fenders, and the person removing the cap. Serious bodily injury may result.
Radiator Surge Tank Cap (1) - Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- NOTE:

Front Bumper Fascia Bolt- Right Side (1) - Remove [6x]
- Front Bumper Fascia Lower Stiffener Bolt- Right Side (2) - Remove
- Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (3) - Remove [4x]

Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (1) - Remove [6x]
- Front Bumper Fascia Lower Reinforcement- Right Side (2) - Remove
Place a drain pan under the radiator drain cock. (1)
- Radiator Drain Cock (1) - Remove
- Inspect the coolant.
- If the coolant is discolored, perform the flushing procedure. Flushing
Radiator Drain Cock (1) - Install
- Remove the drain pan.
