Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716)
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Loosen [2x]
- Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (2) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connector and remove all wiring harnesses from the air cleaner assembly.
Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Remove
Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Remove
Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Water Pump - Remove
Retainer Spring (1) - Release
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Turbocharger (3) - Remove
Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Auxiliary Water Pump Inlet Pipe (2) @ Water Pump - Remove
Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (1) @ Engine Wiring Harness Bracket - Remove [3x]
- Electrical Connector (2) @ Electric Water Pump - Disconnect
Water Pump Bolt (1) - Remove
Water Pump Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Remove the electric water pump (2) from the auxiliary water pump outlet upper hose (3).
Electric Water Pump (1) - Remove
Disconnect and reposition the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector (1).
Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Remove
Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Nut (2) - Remove
Catalytic Converter Heat Shield (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
The compressor air intake turbocharger is removed for illustration purposes only.
Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Inlet Hose (2) @ Auxiliary Water Pump Inlet Pipe - Remove
- Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (3) @ Auxiliary Water Pump Inlet Pipe - Remove
- NOTE:
The compressor air intake turbocharger is removed for illustration purposes only.
Water Pump Inlet Pipe Bolt (1) - Loosen
- NOTE:
The compressor air intake turbocharger is removed for illustration purposes only.
Water Pump Inlet Pipe Bolt (1) - Remove
Remove the auxiliary water pump inlet pipe (1) by maneuvering towards the front of the vehicle.
Do NOT remove the auxiliary water pump outlet upper hose (3) from the engine coolant thermostat housing inlet pipe.
