Removal Procedure

Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Remove the right rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

Rear Wheelhouse Liner Screw (1) - Remove
Underbody Rear Air Deflector Plastic Nut (2) - Remove [3x]
Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt (3) - Remove [3x]
Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut (4) - Remove [2x]

Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Insulator - Left Side (2) - Separate

With the aide of an assistant remove the exhaust muffler (1).
Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD
Have an assistant apply the brakes.

CAUTION:
DO NOT use air tools to remove the wheel drive shaft nut. Damage to the wheel drive shaft threads could occur. Use hand tools only.

Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Nut (1) - Remove and DISCARD

Install the DT-45859 Axle Remover (1) to the rear wheel hub and secure with 3 wheel nuts (2) hand tightened.
Using the DT-45859 Axle Remover (1), release the rear wheel drive shaft from the rear wheel hub.
Remove the 3 wheel nuts (2) and the DT-45859 Axle Remover (1) from the rear wheel hub.

NOTE:
The rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1) and washers (2) are serviced as a rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer kit consisting of 2 bolts and 1 washer.

Remove and DISCARD the 6 rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1).
Remove and DISCARD the 3 wheel drive shaft washers (2).
