Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the right rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    Rear Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]

  4. Rear Tire Front Air Deflector- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side (1) - Remove

  6. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Remove [3x]
  7. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (3) - Remove [3x]
  8. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (4) - Remove [2x]
  9. Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Remove

    Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Right Side (1) - Remove

  11. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (2) - Remove [3x]
  12. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (3) - Remove [3x]
  13. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (4) - Remove [2x]
  14. Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Remove

    Underbody Front Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (1) - Remove [6x]

  16. Underbody Front Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (2) - Remove [5x]
  17. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bracket Bolt- Right Side (3) - Remove [2x]
  18. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (4) - Remove [2x]
  19. Underbody Front Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Remove

    Underbody Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (1) - Remove [6x]

  21. Underbody Front Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Remove [5x]
  22. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bracket Bolt- Left Side (3) - Remove [2x]
  23. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (4) - Remove [2x]
  24. Underbody Front Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Remove

    Floor Panel Number 4 Cross Bar Reinforcement Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  26. Floor Panel Reinforcement (2) - Remove

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

    Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Loosen [2x]

    Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Insulator - Left Side (2) - Separate [2x]

    Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Insulator - Right Side (2) - Separate [2x]

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

    NOTE:

    The rear bumper fascia is removed for illustration purposes only.

    Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [4x]

    With the aid of an assistant, remove the exhaust muffler (1).

  35. Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) Remove and DISCARD

    Remove the 4 rear spring pins (1).

  37. Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Cover (2) - Remove
  38. Have an assistant apply the brakes.

    CAUTION:

    DO NOT use air tools to remove the wheel drive shaft nut. Damage to the wheel drive shaft threads could occur. Use hand tools only.

    Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Nut (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Install the DT-45859  Axle Remover (1) to the rear wheel hub and secure with 3 wheel nuts (2) hand tightened.

  41. Using the DT-45859  Axle Remover (1), release the rear wheel drive shaft from the rear wheel hub.
  42. Remove the 3 wheel nuts (2) and the DT-45859  Axle Remover (1) from the rear wheel hub.

    NOTE:

    The rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1) and washers (2) are serviced as a rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer kit consisting of 2 bolts and 1 washer.

    Remove and DISCARD the 6 rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1).

  44. Remove and DISCARD the 3 wheel drive shaft flange washers (2).

    Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Washer (1) - Remove and DISCARD
