Installation Procedure

    Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Washer (1) - Install NEW

    Rear Wheel Drive Shaft (1) - Install

    NOTE:

    The rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (2) and washers (1) are serviced as a rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer kit consisting of 2 bolts and 1 washer.

    Due to the unknown shelf life, prepare the 6 NEW rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (2) for installation as follows:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  4. Install 3 NEW rear wheel drive shaft flange washers (1).
  5. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Install and tighten the 6 rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (2) in a crisscross pattern. Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Cover (2) - Install

  8. Install the 4 rear spring pins (1).

    Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) Install NEW

  10. With the aid of an assistant, install the exhaust muffler (1).

    Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Insulator - Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

    Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Floor Panel Reinforcement (2) - Install

  19. Floor Panel Number 4 Cross Bar Reinforcement Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Front Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Install

  21. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  22. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bracket Bolt- Left Side (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  23. Underbody Front Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  24. Underbody Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Front Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Install

  26. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  27. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bracket Bolt- Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  28. Underbody Front Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  29. Underbody Front Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Install

  31. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  32. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  33. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  34. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Right Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Install

  36. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  37. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  38. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  39. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Tire Front Air Deflector- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

  41. Rear Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  42. Have an assistant apply the brakes.

    Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Nut (1) - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications 

  44. Install the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  45. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
  46. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
