Installation Procedure

Prior to installation ensure that the exhaust control valve actuator linkage is correctly installed onto the exhaust control valve actuator.
- Ensure that the short tab (1) faces away from the actuator motor (2).
Ensure that the exhaust control valve actuator linkage (1) is fully seated onto the exhaust control valve actuator (2).
Rotate the left side exhaust control valve counterclockwise until it stops and is fully closed.
- Install a small flat head screwdriver or pick (1) through the access hole to hold the valve in the fully closed position.

- Once the exhaust control valve actuator is installed and held in place, remove the screwdriver or pick (1).
If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
- While compressing the exhaust control valve actuator against the valve body, install and tighten the 3 exhaust throttle control valve actuator nuts (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Electrical Connector (1) @ Exhaust Control Valve Actuator- Left Side - Connect
- Lower the vehicle.
