Circuit/System Verification

- Engine - Running@1, 000 to 1, 500 RPM
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Intake/Single Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Intake/Single Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Intake/Single Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit High Test Status Bank 2 = Not Run or Okay
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Low Test Status Bank 2 = Not Run or Okay
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status Bank 2 = Not Run or Okay
- If not the specified state
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Intake/Single Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Intake/Single Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Intake/Single Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit High Test Status Bank 2 = Not Run or Okay
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Low Test Status Bank 2 = Not Run or Okay
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status Bank 2 = Not Run or Okay
- Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: Q84 Camshaft Position Actuator Park Lock Solenoid Valve
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- If not the specified state
Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
Verify the engine has the correct oil level and the correct oil pressure before continuing with this diagnostic.
