Exterior Courtesy Lamps

Outside Rearview Mirror and Exterior Door Handle Courtesy Lamps

The Lighting Control Module supplies battery voltage to the LED lamps located under the outside rearview mirrors and each door handle assembly for approach lighting. When the unlock function is commanded on the keyless entry transmitter, a serial data message is sent to the Lighting Control Module. If the keyless entry transmitter is detected within 2 meters of the vehicle, a serial data message is sent to the Lighting Control Module to illuminate the exterior courtesy lamps. The Lighting Control Module responds to this input by illuminating the outside rearview mirror and door handle assembly courtesy lamps (if equipped) via the Approach Lighting feature. Approach Lighting will be disabled if the vehicle battery is low, the ignition is ON, the keyless entry transmitter is left within 5 meters of the vehicle for an extended period of time, the keyless entry transmitter is left inside the vehicle with all doors closed, or the vehicle has been parked for extended period of time with no remote key use. Exterior courtesy Lamps settings can be customized through the vehicle infotainment system. Exterior Courtesy Lamps will be disabled under all conditions if the vehicle is in service mode.

Hands - Free Liftgate Sensor Lamp (with TC2)

The BCM supplies battery voltage to the hands - free liftgate sensor lamp located on the lower center section of the rear bumper. The hands - free liftgate sensor lamp illuminates the area where the sensor for the foot activated liftgate actuator is located for hands free liftgate operation. When the keyless entry transmitter is operated to either the lock or unlock functions, a serial data message is sent to the BCM. The BCM responds to the input by illuminating the hands-free liftgate sensor lamp. The hands - free liftgate sensor lamp will display the image of the car brand logo on the ground directly under the center of the rear bumper.

Animation Lighting - Entry

The park lamps will steadily increase from low to full intensity for the first 5 seconds after the vehicle is unlocked through the keyless entry transmitter or when the vehicle detects the keyless entry transmitter within 6 feet (2 meters).

Animation Lighting - Exit

The park lamps will steadily decrease from full to low intensity for the last 5 seconds after the vehicle is turned off and the drivers door is opened.
