Installation Procedure

- NOTE:
- Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
- DO NOT allow any engine oil on the area where the crankshaft rear oil seal housing is to be installed.
Apply a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant around the perimeter of the NEW crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- First Design applications will have the positive crankcase ventilation tube seal (2).
- Second Design applications will have a raised surface area for sealant to be applied. apply a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant to the to the NEW crankshaft rear oil seal housing (2).
- Apply a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant to the oil pan to crankshaft rear oil seal housing surface. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

NOTE:Do NOT allow any engine oil on the area where the crankshaft rear oil seal housing is to be installed.
Install the EN-51766 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation Tool onto the rear of the crankshaft flange.
- Install the NEW crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1) to the engine block.
- Install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts (2) and hand tighten.
- Remove the EN-51766 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation Tool from the crankshaft flange.
- Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Housing Bolt (2) - Tighten in sequence [7x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)
Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [2x] - Upper Oil Pan Replacement (AWD) , or Upper Oil Pan Replacement (RWD)
- Automatic Transmission Flex Plate - Install - Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Replacement
