Removal Procedure

  1. Lower Oil Pan - Remove - Lower Oil Pan Replacement

    Engine Oil Level Indicator Control Module Wiring Harness (1) @ Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve (2) - Disconnect

  3. Retainer (3) - Unclip [2x]
  4. Engine Oil Level Indicator Control Module Wiring Harness (1) - Position aside

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Drain Pipe (1) - Remove - Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Drain Pipe Replacement

    Oil Pump Screen (2) - Remove - Oil Pump Screen Replacement

    Balancer Shaft Access Hole Nut (1) - Remove

  8. Balancer Shaft Access Hole Washer (2) - Remove
  9. NOTE:

    Rotate and tilt the balancer shaft access hole plate as necessary to remove through the access hole.

  10. Balancer Shaft Access Hole Plate (3) - Remove

    EN-52442  Balance Shaft Holding Tool (1) - Install and hand tighten

  12. Use the crankshaft balancer to rotate the engine until the balance shaft weights contact the EN-52442  Balance Shaft Holding Tool (1).
  13. Slide the wedge of the EN-52442  Balance Shaft Holding Tool (2) to the balance shaft weights and tighten the EN-52442  Balance Shaft Holding Tool thumb screw (3) to hold the balance shafts in position.

    Balancer Shaft Bearing Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  15. Lower Crankcase Extension Bolt (2) - Remove
  16. Balancer Shaft Bearing Bolt (3) - Remove
  17. Remove the balancer shaft lower housing and oil pump as an assembly (4).

    Oil Pump Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  19. Oil Pump (2) - Remove
  20. Oil Pump Gasket (3) - Remove and DISCARD

    Oil Pump Seal (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Oil Pump Drive Shaft (1) @ Oil Pump (2) - Remove

  23. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve - Remove - Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Replacement
