Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Used valve rocker arms must be returned to the original position on the camshaft. If the camshaft is being replaced, the valve rocker arms actuated by the camshaft must also be replaced.
Valve Rocker Arm (1) @ Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster (2) - Install [16x]
Install the 8 intake valve rocker arms (1) with hydraulic valve lash adjuster (2).
Install the 8 exhaust valve rocker arms (1) with hydraulic valve lash adjuster (2).
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Gasket (2) - Install NEW
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator (3) - Install
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [6x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)

NOTE:
- DO NOT use any type of lubricant when installing the NEW combustion seals on the fuel injector tip.
- Injectors do not need to come off the fuel rail to install NEW seals.
Install EN-51955-1 long protector (1) onto the fuel injector tip, covering the first recessed area closest to the tip. Place a NEW seal (2) on EN-51955-1 long protector (1).
- Using EN-51955-4 pusher (3), install the seal (2) into the recessed area (4) of the fuel injector, then remove the EN-51955-1 long protector (1).
- Compress the seal (2) using EN-51955-3 pre-sizer (5).
- Using EN-51955-5 sizer (6), resize the seal.
- Install EN-51955-2 short protector (7) onto the fuel injector tip. Place a second NEW seal (8) on EN-51955-2 short protector (7).
- Using EN-51955-4 pusher (3), install the seal (8) into the remaining recessed area (9) of the fuel injector, then remove EN-51955-2 short protector (7).
- Compress the seal (8) using EN-51955-3 pre-sizer (5).
- Using EN-51955-5 sizer (6), resize the seal.
- NOTE:
The fuel injector seals must fit properly in the relative groove. Overlapping of the fuel injector seals with the external surface of the injector must be avoided.
Check both of the fuel injector combustion seals on each fuel injector for correct seat:
- The seal must not be too large, buckled, or corrugated (1)
- The seal must be fixed tight and accurate (2)
- If the seals are not installed correctly, remove the incorrect seal and replace with a NEW seal.
Ensure the fuel injector bores are clean.
- Direct Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (1) - Install

NOTE:Install the four fuel injection fuel rail bolts hand tight only, DO NOT apply any torque.
Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Bolt (1, 2, 3) - Install and hand tighten [4x]
- Tighten the two outer fuel injection fuel rail bolts (1, 3) alternating in steps of 1/2 turn, until the direct fuel injection fuel rail (4) is fully seated.
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Bolt (1, 2, 3) - Tighten [4x] 36 N.m (27 lb ft)
- WARNING:
The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise cancelling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death.
Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Insulator (1) - Install
Cylinder Head Gasket (3) - Install NEW
- Cylinder Head (2) - Install
- Cylinder Head Bolt (1) - Install NEW and hand tighten [10x]
- NOTE:
Ensure the correct bolt length is used in the correct location.
Cylinder Head Bolt (1, 2, 3) - Install and hand tighten [8x]

Cylinder Head Bolt - Tighten in the sequence shown. [18x]
- Cylinder Head Bolt (1 - 10) - First Pass: 30 N.m (22 lb ft)
- Cylinder Head Bolt (11 - 18) Tighten - 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- Cylinder Head Bolt (1 - 10) - Final Pass: 190 degrees - Using EN-45059 Angle Meter
Turbocharger Heat Shield (2) - Install NEW
- Position the compressor air intake turbocharger (1) to the cylinder head.
- Turbocharger Bolt (3) - Install NEW and hand tighten [4x]

- Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Install
Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install [3x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Reposition and connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
Engine Coolant Manifold Gasket (3) - Install NEW
- Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe (2) - Reposition
- Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install, but do NOT tighten [2x]
Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install, but do NOT tighten
Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe (3) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install
- Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)

Install the 2 larger (3) EN-46109 Engine Front Cover Installation Guide Pins in the center of the cylinder head.
- Camshaft Cover Gasket (2) - Install NEW
- Camshaft Carrier (1) - Install
- EN-46109 Engine Front Cover Installation Guide Pins (3) - Remove
Camshaft Cover Stud (1) - Install and hand tighten [14x]
- Camshaft Carrier Bolt - M6 (2) - Install and hand tighten [4x]
- Remove the 2 larger EN-46109 Engine Front Cover Installation Guide Pins from the center of the cylinder head.
- Camshaft Carrier Bolt - M8 (3) - Install and hand tighten [4x]
Camshaft Cover Stud (1) - Tighten in sequence [14x] 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- Camshaft Carrier Bolt - M6 (2) - Tighten in sequence [4x] 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- Camshaft Carrier Bolt - M8 (3) - Tighten in sequence [4x] 36 N.m (27 lb ft)
Connect the electrical connectors at the knock sensor (3) and the coolant temperature sensor (2) under the fuel rail insulator.
The EN-52443 High Pressure Fuel Pump Alignment Tool has two ends marked with number 1 (1) and number 2 (2).
- NOTE:
- The camshaft MUST be at the base circle position before the fuel pump is installed.
- At the base circle position, the EN-52443 High Pressure Fuel Pump Alignment Tool will sit flush with the cylinder head.
Install the EN-52443 High Pressure Fuel Pump Alignment Tool (1) with the number 2 (1) facing outward and turn the crankshaft until the camshaft lobe is at the base circle position.
- Remove the EN-52443 High Pressure Fuel Pump Alignment Tool (1).
Lubricate the valve lifter follower (2) with clean engine oil.
- Valve Lifter Follower (2) - Install
- Fuel Pump Seal (3) - Install NEW
- Fuel Pump (1) - Install
- Fuel Pump Bolt (4) - Install and tighten [2x] 36 N.m (27 lb ft)
- Connect the fuel pump electrical connector.
Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe (2) - Install NEW
- Nut @ Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe (2) - Tighten [2x] 30 N.m (22 lb ft)
- Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten to 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- WARNING:

Fuel Pump Insulator (1) - Install
Fuel Pump Cover (2) - Install
- Fuel Pump Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- Reposition wiring harness as necessary.
Fuel Feed Pipe (1) @ Fuel Pump - Connect - Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Reposition wiring harness as necessary.
Install the generator (1) with the lower generator mounting bolt (2).
Generator Bolt (2) - Install and tighten to 22 N.m (195 lb in)
- Generator Bolt (1) - Install and tighten to 22 N.m (195 lb in)
- NOTE:
Intake manifold is shown transparent.
Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (2) - Install
- Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) @ Generator - Install and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
- Install the ground wire and bolt - M6 at the back of cylinder head. Ground Repair
Intake Manifold Gasket (2) - Install NEW
- NOTE:
Check that the 2 pins (4) of the intake manifold are seated correctly in the cylinder head.
Intake Manifold (3) - Install
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Intake Manifold (3) - Install
- Connect throttle body electrical connector (1)
Intake Manifold Bolt (1) - Install and hand tighten [7x]

Intake Manifold Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [7x]
- First Pass: 5 N.m (44 lb in)
- Final Pass: 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Pipe Bracket - Install [2x]
- Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Clip Bracket Nut - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Reposition the wiring harness (3) and connect as necessary.
- Retainer (1) @ Intake Manifold (2) - Install [5x]
Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW
- Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe (1) - Install
Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install [2x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
Turbocharger Coolant Return Hose Clamp (2) - Engage [2x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install [2x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
Electrical Connector (1) @ Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator - Connect
- Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) @ Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe - Install [2x]
Electrical Connector (1) @ Turbocharger Bypass Valve Solenoid (2) - Connect
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger (3) - Install
- Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
Engine Wiring Harness Bracket (3) - Install
- Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Nut (2) - Install and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Reposition
- Retainer (1) - Install [5x]
Clean the block thread holes with a tap before installation of timing chain tensioner (2).
- Timing Chain Tensioner (2) - Install
- Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe (2) - Install.
- Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
Timing Chain Guide (2) - Install.
- Timing Chain Guide Bolt (1) - Install and hand tighten [2x]
- NOTE:
The colored links (2) on the timing chain are only for identification.
Timing Chain (1) - Install
- Timing Chain (1) @ Crankshaft Sprocket @ Timing Chain Upper Guide (2) - Install
- NOTE:
The timing pin (3) is installed into the flexplate for engine timing procedures, it can be damaged if torque is applied to the flexplate with the timing pin engaged. The timing pin must be placed in the retracted position using the handle (1) and twisting to locked position. The slide part (4) to be installed to the flex plate when torque is applied to the flexplate or crankshaft balancer bolt.
Retract the timing pin (3) using the handle (1) of the EN-52476 Flywheel Lock and Alignment Tool (2).
Install the EN-52461 Cam Phaser Torque Reaction Tool (5) along with the 2 EN-52461-100 Adapter Cam Phaser Torque Reaction Tool (2, 3) to the engine.
- CAUTION:
Hold the camshaft sprocket firmly and squarely during camshaft sprocket bolt removal/installation. Failure to do so may result in damage to the inside of the camshaft sprocket.
Hold the intake camshaft sprocket (1) with hands from underneath the EN-52461 Cam Phaser Torque Reaction Tool (3) and install the EN-52461-1 Holder into the intake camshaft sprocket to hold it securely before installing the camshaft sprocket bolt.
- Line up intake camshaft sprocket (1) with alignment marks, as you install them on chain and the housing which should of been done on removal.
Hold the exhaust camshaft sprocket (1) with hands from underneath the EN-52461 Cam Phaser Torque Reaction Tool (3) and install the EN-52461-1 Holder into the exhaust camshaft sprocket to hold it securely before installing the camshaft sprocket bolt (1).
- Line up exhaust camshaft sprocket (1) with alignment marks, as you install them on chain and the housing which should of been done on removal.
- NOTE:
Lubricate under the washer surface.
Lubricate the camshaft sprocket bolts (1) with clean engine oil where indicated. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Camshaft Sprocket Bolt (1) - Install NEW and hand tighten
Check that the EN-52461-1 Holder (1) sits correctly in the hole of the camshaft sprocket.
- Rotate the EN-52461-1 Holder counter clockwise (1).
- While holding the EN-52461-1 Holder (1) in the clockwise position to 6 N.m (53 lb in), tighten the bolt (4) just enough to hold the EN-52461-1 Holder in place.
- Intake Camshaft Sprocket Bolt (2) - Tighten
- First Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 28 degrees
- Check that the EN-52461-1 Holder (1) sits correctly in the hole of the exhaust camshaft sprocket.
- Tighten the EN-52461-1 Holder (1). Rotate the EN-52461-1 Holder counter clockwise.
- While holding the EN-52461-1 Holder in the counter clockwise position to 6 N.m (53 lb in), tighten the bolt (3) just enough to hold the EN-52461-1 Holder in place.
- Exhaust Camshaft Sprocket Bolt (2) - Tighten
- First Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 28 degrees
Timing Chain Guide Bolt (1) - Tighten [2x] 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- EN-955-10-A Locking Pin - Remove
Bolt (1, 2) - Loosen
- Slide the 2 EN-52461-1 Holder (3) out of the camshaft sprockets.
Loosen the 2 bolts (1, 4) of EN-52461-100 Adapter Cam Phaser Torque Reaction Tool (5).
- Remove the EN-52461 Cam Phaser Torque Reaction Tool (5) along with the 2 EN-52461-100 Adapter Cam Phaser Torque Reaction Tool (2, 3) from the engine.
Remove the EN-52462-A Camshaft Tool (1) by rotating the levers in direction of arrows.
Loosen and disengage the bolt (2) from EN-52462-A Camshaft Alignment Tool.
- EN-52462-A Camshaft Alignment Tool (1) - Remove
Clean and apply sealant to the camshaft cover opening plugs (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Camshaft Cover Opening Plug (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Camshaft Carrier Bolt (2) - Install and tighten to 36 N.m (27 lb ft)
- Wiring Harness (6) - Install
- Retainer (2) @ Camshaft Carrier (4) - Install [3x]
- Electrical Connector (1) @ Camshaft Carrier (3) - Connect [11x]
Inspect the inside of the ignition coil boot for a thin, even coat of dielectric grease. If there is no grease present or additional grease is necessary, apply a thin coating of dielectric grease to the inside of the ignition coil boot up to a depth of 15 mm (0.60 in from the end of the boot.
- Remove any excess dielectric grease from around the end of the ignition coil boot and ensure there is not an excessive amount within the boot.
- Ignition Coil (2) - Install [4x]
- Ignition Coil Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [8x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- Electrical Connector - Connect [2x]
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting Seal (4) - Install NEW [2x]
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose (3) - Install
- Retainer (2) - Install
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Connector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- Electrical Connector - Connect
Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (2) - Install
- NOTE:
- The timing chain upper cover sealing surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
- Install and align the timing chain upper cover to engine block within 10 minutes of applying the sealer.
- The timing chain upper cover must be fastened to final torque specification within 15 minutes of applying the sealer.
- Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
Apply approximately a 5 mm (0.2 in) thick bead of sealant (2) on both sides between the camshaft housing and the cylinder head. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Check that the 2 Pins (1) are in the camshaft housing or in the timing chain upper cover.
Timing Chain Upper Cover Seal (1) - Install NEW
- Timing Chain Upper Cover (2) - Install
Timing Chain Upper Cover Bolt - M5 (2) - Install and hand tighten [11x] [11x]
- Timing Chain Upper Cover Bolt - M6 (3) - Install and hand tighten

- Camshaft Position Actuator Valve Solenoid (2) - Install
- Camshaft Position Actuator Valve Solenoid Bolt (1) - Install [2x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Gasket (3) - Install NEW
- Camshaft Position Actuator Valve Solenoid (2) - Install
- Camshaft Position Actuator Valve Solenoid Bolt (1) - Install [2x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
Engine Wiring Harness (3) - Reposition
- Retainer (1) @ Timing Chain Upper Cover (2) - Engage [6x]
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the camshaft position actuator valve solenoids.
- NOTE:
- The engine front cover sealing surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
- Install and align the engine front cover to engine block within 10 minutes of applying the sealer.
- The engine front lower cover must be fastened to final torque specification within 15 minutes of applying the sealer.
- Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
Apply approximately a 4 mm (0.16 in) thick bead of sealant (1) to the engine front cover. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Crankshaft Balancer Bolt - Remove and DISCARD
Install EN-52440 Crankshaft Oil Seal Ring Guide Front (2) to the crankshaft.
- Install the engine front cover (1) backwards using the 2 tabs to size the seal.
Remove the engine front cover (1) after seal is sized.
- EN-52483 Guide Pins (2) - Install
- Engine Front Cover (1) - Install
Engine Front Cover Bolt (1) - Install and hand tighten [9x]
- Remove the EN-52440 Crankshaft Oil Seal Ring Guide Front.
- Remove the EN-52483 Guide Pins (2).
Engine Front Cover Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [9x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- NOTE:
The EN-52476 Flywheel Lock and Alignment Tool timing pin feature must be retracted during the balancer bolt installation.
Ensure the EN-52476 Flywheel Lock and Alignment Tool (1) is installed to the automatic transmission flexplate.
- Lower the vehicle.
Drive Belt Tensioner (2) - Install
- Drive Belt Tensioner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
Crankshaft Balancer (2) - Install
- Crankshaft Balancer Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten in sequence
- First Pass: 150 N.m (111 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 140 degrees
Accessory Drive Primary Belt (1) - Install NEW
Use a suitable tool to rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise and hold.
- Slowly release tension on the drive belt tensioner.
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Install
- Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
Evaporative Emission Pipe (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Connect the electrical connector.
Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Pipe Bracket - Install
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Pipe Bracket - Install
Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Wiring Harness - Install
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (1) @ Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose - Install
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (3) @ Fuel Pump Cover - Install
Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install [2x]

EN-52476 Flywheel Lock and Alignment Tool (1) - Remove
Starter (3) - Install
- Starter Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
- Starter Stud (1) - Install and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (2) - Install
- Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) @ Starter Solenoid - Install and tighten to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in)
Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (3) - Install
- Battery Negative Cable Nut (1) @ Starter Stud - Install and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Engage [2x]
- NOTE:
The timing pin (3) is installed into the flexplate for engine timing procedures, it can be damaged if torque is applied to the flexplate with the timing pin engaged. The timing pin must be placed in the retracted position using the handle (1) and twisting to locked position. EN-52476 Flywheel Lock and Alignment Tool (2) - Remove
- Lower the vehicle.
Oil Level Indicator Tube O-Ring (2) - Install NEW
- Oil Level Indicator Tube (1) - Install
Oil Level Indicator Tube Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten to 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- Electrical Connector (1) @ Oil Level Indicator Tube (3) - Clip
Oil Level Indicator (1) - Install
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Install
Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Tighten to 4 N.m (35 lb in)
Retainer (1) - Clip [4x]
- Electrical Connector (4) - Connect
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (1) - Connect [2x] - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Retainer (2) - Clip
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (1) - Install
- Connect the evaporative emission canister purge tube (2) to the retainer (3). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install
- Upper Intake Manifold Cover Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Upper Intake Manifold Cover Bracket Bolt (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Wiring Harness (4) - Reposition
- Retainer (2) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (3) - Install
- Electrical Connector (1) - Connect [3x]
- Ensure any remaining retainers are connected securely.
Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install
- NOTE:
Ensure the engine sight shield retainers fully engage the intake manifold cover studs.
Push down on the front of the intake manifold cover (1) engaging the intake manifold cover retainers to the intake manifold cover studs.
- Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
- Install the oil fill cap.
- Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill)
- Check the cooling system for leaks.
- Connect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Perform the throttle body idle air flow compensation reset. Throttle Body Idle Air Flow Compensation Reset
- Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
- Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
- Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
- Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
- Perform the engine oil life reset. GM Oil Life System Resetting (Without Scan Tool) , or GM Oil Life System Resetting (With Scan Tool)
Hand place the fuel injection fuel rail into position on the cylinder head.
A small amount of adhesive in the corners will help keep the gasket in place.
Alternately hand-tighten the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully seated. Trying to draw down the pump without even side-to-side tightening may result in pump plunger damage.
Service may offer bolts without micro-encapsulated thread locking adhesive. If this is the case, clean the threads and reapply adhesive to the bolts.
