WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the connector at the M75 Windshield Wiper Motor. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
- Disconnect the X5 connector at the K219 Exterior Lighting Control Module. Ignition ON.
- With the S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch in the off position, test for less than 1 V between signal circuit terminal 11 and ground.
- If greater than 1 V
- Test circuit 1715 for a short to voltage.
- If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found.
- Replace the S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- Ignition OFF, S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch in the OFF position.
- Test for infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 11 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test circuit 1715 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Operate the S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch to the high speed position.
- Test for less than infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 11 and ground.
- If infinite resistance
- Test circuit 1715 for an open/high resistance.
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Replace the S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch.
- Go to next step: If less than infinite resistance
- Connect the X5 connector at the K219 Exterior Lighting Control Module.
- Ignition ON. Operate the vehicle under the Conditions for Setting the DTC.
- Verify DTC B1176 does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the K219 Exterior Lighting Control Module
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- Connect the M75 Windshield Wiper Motor. Operate the vehicle under the Conditions for Setting the DTC.
- Verify DTC B1176 does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the M75 Windshield Wiper Motor
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- A fault is not currently present and may be an intermittent condition.
