Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Ensure that the rear suspension cradle is securely attached to the jack/support stand.
Rear Suspension Cradle (1) - Install
Install the 2 CH-51034-A Cradle Alignment Pins (1) to align the rear cradle to the body.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
CAUTION:Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .
Rear Suspension Cradle Rear Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [2x]
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (90 - 105 degrees)
Temporarily install the 2 OLD rear cradle front bolts (1).
- Remove the 2 CH-51034-A Cradle Alignment Pins from the rear cradle.
- Remove the lift table from under the rear suspension cradle.
- NOTE:

Rear Suspension Bracket - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x] - Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement - Rear
Install the chassis wiring harness retainer (1) to the underbody air front deflector stud.
- Install the chassis wiring harness channel (2) to the 2 body studs.
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Connect the 2 body wiring harness electrical connectors (1) to the chassis wiring harness electrical connectors.
Place the jack stand (1) under the rear differential carrier for support.
- NOTE:

Position the block of wood (1) and the suitable jack stand (2) between the frame of the vehicle and the rear suspension bracket on the right side.
- NOTE:
- Left side shown, right side similar.
- DO NOT raise the vehicle higher than necessary.
Using the block of wood and the suitable jack stand (1), raise the vehicle just enough to reposition the hoist pad (2) from under the vehicle.
Rear Suspension Cradle Front Bolt - Right Side (1) - Remove and DISCARD
- NOTE:

Rear Suspension Bracket - Right Side (2) - Install - Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement - Front
DO NOT ATTEMPT OTHER REPAIRS WITH JACK STANDS IN PLACE.
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Reposition the hoist lift pad (2) back underneath the right side of the vehicle.
- Using the jack stand (1) and the block of wood, slowly lower the vehicle back on the hoist pad (2).
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Remove the jack stand (2) and the block of wood (1) from underneath the right side of vehicle.
Position the block of wood (1) and the suitable jack stand (2) between the frame of the vehicle and the rear suspension bracket on the left side.
- NOTE:
DO NOT raise the vehicle higher than necessary.
Using the block of wood and the suitable jack stand (1), raise the vehicle just enough to reposition the hoist pad (2) from under the vehicle.
Rear Suspension Cradle Front Bolt - Left Side (1) - Remove and DISCARD
Rear Suspension Bracket - Front - Left Side (2) - Install - Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement - Front
DO NOT ATTEMPT OTHER REPAIRS WITH JACK STANDS IN PLACE.
Reposition the hoist lift pad (2) back underneath the vehicle.
- Using the jack stand (1) and the block of wood, slowly lower the vehicle back on the hoist pad (2).
Remove the jack stand (2) and the block of wood (1) from underneath the right side of vehicle.
Remove the jack stand (1) from the rear differential carrier.

Rear Brake Caliper - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x] - Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JL9, J56) , or Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J6H) , or Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J57)
- NOTE:

Parking Brake Caliper - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x] - Parking Brake Caliper Replacement (J57, J6H)
- NOTE:

Rear Brake Hose Clip Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) @ Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm - Install and tighten - Rear Brake Hose Replacement (J56, JL9) , or Rear Brake Hose Replacement (J6H) , or Rear Brake Hose Replacement (J57)
- NOTE:

Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x] - Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Replacement
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x] - Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link Replacement (FE2, FE3) , or Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link Replacement (FE4)
Propeller Shaft (1) - Install - Propeller Shaft Replacement (with LT4, MJK) , or Propeller Shaft Replacement (with LT4, MHX)
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
- Slowly release the brake pedal.
- Wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 34 - 35 until a firm brake pedal is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
- Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the maximum-full level with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling
- Calibrate the park brake.
- Block the drive wheels.
- Install a scan tool to the vehicle.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position with the engine OFF.
- Select Configuration/Reset Functions from the Brake System Control Module.
- If available, perform the Parking Brake Calibration Procedure.
- If Park Brake Calibration is not available, proceed back and select Control Functions.
- Perform the Deactivate Rear Park Brake Service Position function.
- Apply and release the park brakes using the park brake switch to ensure that the system is functioning.
- Perform wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement
Vehicle alignment is not required if cradle is being lowered or dropped to perform another procedure. This vehicle is equipped with a cradle to body aligning feature: cradle to body through holes or self-aligning pins that are part of cradle or body. Only align if replacing the cradle with new part and transferring components.
