Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.

    Inspect each engine mount to ensure the phenolic spacer (1) is in place and not damaged.

    With the aid of an assistant, carefully lower the body to the frame. (1)

  3. Ensure the following components are clear from the frame:
    • Vacuum lines
    • Steering knuckles
    • Electrical wiring harnesses
    • Oil cooler lines

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Front Bolt (2) - Install NEW and tighten [4x]

    1. First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (90 - 105 degrees)
  5. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  6. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Rear Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [2x]
    1. First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (90 - 105 degrees)
  7. Remove the EN-39580  engine support stand from under the vehicle.

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) @ Steering Gear - Install - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (RWD)

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Engage [6x]

  10. Connect electrical connectors at engine mounts.

    Connect the steering gear electrical connectors. (1)

    Stabilizer Shaft Link (1) @ Stabilizer Shaft - Install - Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE2) , or Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE3, FE4)

    Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod (3) @ Steering Knuckle - Install - Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement (without Blackwing)

  14. Front Lower Control Rear Link - Install - Front Lower Control Rear Link Replacement (RWD)
  15. Front Lower Control Front Link - Install - Front Lower Control Front Link Replacement (RWD)
  16. Front Crossmember Brace-Left Side - Install - Front Crossmember Brace Replacement - Left Side 
  17. Front Crossmember Brace-Right Side - Install - Front Crossmember Brace Replacement - Right Side 
  18. Remove straps used to support the radiator.

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector (1) - Install - Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Replacement

    Front Tire Front Air Deflector (2) - Install - Front Tire Front Air Deflector Replacement (without Blackwing)

  25. Lower the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  26. Remove the engine support fixture.
  27. Align the vehicle only if replacing the drivetrain and front suspension frame. Wheel Alignment Measurement
