Removal Procedure
- Remove the auxiliary power outlet fuse from the fuse block.
- Open the Front Floor Console Armrest.
Remove the Front Floor Console Accessory Power Rear Receptacle (1):
- Look into the receptacle (1). There are two 3 mm (0.11 in) tab windows 12 mm (0.47 in) from the front of the receptacle. The EL-52488 Accessory Power Outlet Socket Remover pushes the plastic latches from these tab windows and the receptacle can be pulled straight out.
- Place one side of the "T" portion of the EL-52488 Accessory Power Outlet Socket Remover into the tab window. The EL-52488 Accessory Power Outlet Socket Remover will not fit straight into the receptacle (1). Angle the EL-52488 Accessory Power Outlet Socket Remover slightly for insertion into the receptacle.
- Insert the other side of the "T" into the opposite tab window.
You must move the EL-52488 Accessory Power Outlet Socket Remover handle toward horizontal to engage the other tab window.
- Use the EL-52488 Accessory Power Outlet Socket Remover to pull the receptacle (1) straight out.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the accessory power receptacle (1).
- If EL-52488
Accessory Power Outlet Socket Remover tool fails to release the receptacle (1) from the retainer, perform the following alternate method:
- Insert a small grinding tool with a cutoff wheel into the socket.
- Remove the plastic latches in the 3 mm (0.11 in) square windows.
- NOTE:
Use a plastic trim tool if necessary.
Pull out the front floor console accessory power rear receptacle retainer (1) till it stops.
- NOTE:

Tilt up and move down to clear the top of the front floor console accessory power rear receptacle retainer (1).

Turn the front floor console accessory power rear receptacle retainer (1) down and out of the armrest compartment.
- Apply the parking brake.
- Place the transmission control in the Neutral position.
Using a flat bladed trim tool, detach the manual transmission control lever boot (2) from the console.
- Lift the manual transmission control lever boot (2) to access the manual transmission control lever knob bolt (3).
- Remove the manual transmission control lever knob bolt (3), then lift off the manual transmission control lever boot and knob assembly (1, 2).
Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Reposition the front floor console trim plate (1) to access the electrical connector.
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Disconnect the instrument panel harness connector (1) from the front floor console wiring harness extension harness.
Front Floor Console Trim Plate (1) - Remove
Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Reposition the component to access the electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Front Floor Console Rear Trim Panel (1) - Remove
Reposition the seat as necessary to access the retaining clips.
- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Front Floor Console Extension Panel - Right Side (1) - Remove
Front Floor Console Cup Holder Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]
Reposition the seat as necessary to access the retaining clips.
- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Front Floor Console Extension Panel - Left Side (1) - Remove
Front Floor Console Armrest Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Front Floor Console Cup Holder Bolt (2) - Remove [5x]
- Remove the lens of the front floor console bin lamp (3) from the front floor console cup holder.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
- Multimedia Receptacle (1) - Remove
Starting from the rear of the front floor console cup holder (1), release the retaining clips until you can access armrest hinge fasteners.
Front Floor Console Armrest Hinge Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
Front Floor Console Armrest (1) - Remove
The transmission control lever boot and knob are replaced as an assembly.
