Installation Procedure

Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) - Install
Prepare the intermediate steering shaft lower bolt (1) at the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear for installation as follows:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
- Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Bolt (1) @ Electric Belt Drive Rack and Pinion Steering Gear - Install and tighten to 57 N.m (42 lb ft)
Install the mid intermediate steering shaft to the intermediate steering shaft by sliding the upper portion of the intermediate shaft (1) upward.
- Mid Intermediate Steering Shaft Bolt (1) - Install - Mid Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (RWD)
- Remove the device preventing the steering column from rotating.
