Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a thin coating of grease evenly ensuring complete coverage of the rear suspension knuckle pilot bore only. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Align the rear brake shield (2) to the rear suspension knuckle.

  3. Rear Wheel Hub (1) - Install

    Prepare the 3 rear wheel hub bolts (1) for installation as follows:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Rear Wheel Hub Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x]
    1. First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: 15 - 30 degrees

    Rear Brake Rotor (1) - Install - Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9, J56) , or Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J6H) , or Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J57)

    Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (2) @Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install - Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (J56, JL9) , or Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (J57, J6H)

  10. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (without J57) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (with J57)
  11. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
