Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
The front stabilizer shaft insulators are NOT serviceable. Do NOT transfer the insulators.
Install the front stabilizer shaft (1) to the vehicle by manipulating it through the engine wiring harness and chassis components.
- CAUTION:
Use caution when removing components surrounding the Steering Gear Boots. Avoid tool contact with the steering gear boot and clamps. Damage to the steering gear boot may lead to dirt and water contamination in the steering gear rack and components requiring a preventable replacement of the Steering Gear and its Components.
Front Stabilizer Shaft Clamp (1) - Install
- Loosely install the 2 right side front stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (2).
Front Stabilizer Shaft Clamp (1) - Install
- Loosely install the 2 left side front stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (2).
- Front Stabilizer Shaft Link@Front Stabilizer Shaft - Install [2x] - Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE2) , or Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE3, FE4)
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (without J57) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (with J57)
- Lower the vehicle.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
With the vehicle at ride height, using a swivel socket, tighten the 4 front stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (1).
- First Pass: 13 N.m (10 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 30 - 45 degrees
Front Compartment Air Deflector (1) - Install - Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (RWD) , or Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Blackwing)
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
The 2 right side front stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (2) are to be tightened with the vehicle at ride height.
The 2 left side front stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (2) are to be tightened with the vehicle at ride height.
