Installation Procedure

Raise the differential carrier assembly (1) into position.

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the NEW differential carrier rear bolt (1) and tighten to:
- First Pass: 220 N.m (162 lb ft)
- Final Pass: plus 60 degrees

Install the two differential carrier rear bolts (1) and differential carrier nuts (2) and tighten to:
- First Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Final Pass: plus 90 degrees
Install the rear wheel drive shafts to the differential carrier assembly. Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side (without LT4) , or Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side (with LT4) , Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side (without LT4) , or Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side (with LT4)
Propeller Shaft - Install - Propeller Shaft Replacement (without LT4) , or Propeller Shaft Replacement (with LT4, MJK) , or Propeller Shaft Replacement (with LT4, MHX) , or Propeller Shaft Replacement (AWD)
Fill the differential with the proper fluid. Rear Axle Lubricant Replacement
Lower the vehicle.
