Installation Procedure

  1. It is necessary to perform the air conditioning compressor oil balance procedure when replacing the air conditioning compressor. Air Conditioning Compressor Oil Balancing

    NOTE:

    Air Conditioning Compressor (2) - Install

  3. Connect the electrical connectors.
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

    Radiator Outlet Pipe (1) - Move into position - Radiator Outlet Pipe Replacement (RWD with LGY) , or Radiator Outlet Pipe Replacement (AWD with LGY)

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) - Reposition away - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (AWD) , or Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (RWD)

    Accessory Drive Primary Belt (1) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Install - Accessory Drive Primary Belt Replacement

    Air Conditioning Compressor Nut (1) - Install and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

    Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Install

  11. Retainer (2) - Install
  12. NOTE:

    Refer to the procedure link for torque specification.

  13. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Engine Front Splash Shield Replacement (AWD) , or Engine Front Splash Shield Replacement (RWD)
  14. Install the left front tire and wheel. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (without J57) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (with J57)
  15. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

    CAUTION:

    New Air Conditioning sealing washers should never be exposed to any type of oil or lubricant, the rubber material may absorb the oil causing failures during installation or the life of the vehicle.

    Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal (2) - Install NEW

    Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement

    Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal (2) - Install NEW

  20. Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose (1) - Install

    NOTE:

    Refer to the procedure link for torque specification.

    Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Replacement

    Turbocharger Air Inlet Adapter (2) - Install - Turbocharger Air Inlet Adapter Replacement - Bank 2

    Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator-Left Side (2) - Install

  24. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Retaining Clip (4) - Install

  26. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  27. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose (2) - Install
  28. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Clamp (1) - Install - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  29. NOTE:

    Refer to the procedure link for torque specification.

  30. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  31. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging 
  32. Inspect for refrigerant leaks.
