Installation Procedure

NOTE:
Install the seal onto the tool before installing into the case to prevent damage to the seal.

Using the J-44765 Seal Installer, install the NEW main shaft rear seal (1).

Install the propeller shaft transmission yoke (1) to the transmission output shaft.

Install a propeller shaft transmission yoke washer (2).
Install the DT-45012 Holding Fixture (4) to the propeller shift transmission yoke (3).

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

While holding DT-45012 Holding Fixture, install a propeller shaft transmission yoke nut (1) using with appropriate socket, tighten the propeller shaft transmission yoke nut to 136 N.m (100 lb ft).
Remove the DT-45012 Holding Fixture (4) from the propeller shaft transmission yoke (3).

Align the reference mark (1) between the propeller shaft flange and the output flange of the transmission.
