Transmission Case
- NOTE:
The end of the bearing that has numbers stamped on it must face the J-44384 Bearing Installer, so that the numbers are visible when the bearing is installed.
Use the J-36190 Universal Driver Handle (1) and the J-44384 Bearing Installer (2) to install the 1st and 2nd and the 3rd and 4th shift shaft bearing.
- NOTE:
Bearings and Races are replaced as sets.
Use the DT-8092 Drive Handle (1) and the J-39435 Bearing Race Installer (2) to install the main shaft bearing cup (3).
Use the DT-8092 Drive Handle (1) and the J-39435 Bearing Race Installer (2) to install the counter shaft bearing cup (3).
Install the 2 transmission case locating pin (1) and transmission magnet (2). Use the appropriate adhesive. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Manual Transmission Reverse Gear Blockout Solenoid Seal. (1) - Install NEW
- Manual Transmission Case Hole Plug (2) - Install and tighten 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
- Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Pipe Bracket (4) - Install
- Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Pipe Bracket Bolt (3) - Install and tighten 7.5 N.m (66 lb in)
Apply sealant or equivalent to the threads of the transmission case fill plug (1), the manual transmission fluid temperature sensor (3) and the transmission fluid cooler pipe fittings (2). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Install a NEW transmission fluid cooler outlet pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Install a transmission oil filler plug (2) and tighten to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
- Install the manual transmission fluid temperature sensor (3) and tighten to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).
- CAUTION:
The H-pattern on the guide plate must face the extension housing. If the guide plate is installed incorrectly, then damage will occur.
Install the shift guide detent plate (2) and the 2 NEW shift guide detent plate bolts (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 Ib ft).
