WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify the appropriate scan tool parameter: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor or Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2, 5, 6 =-39 to 139°C (-38 to 282°F)
- If not between -39 and 139°C (-38 and 282°F)
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If between -39 and 139°C (-38 and 282°F)
- If not between -39 and 139°C (-38 and 282°F)
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor or Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2, 5, 6 = The parameter value should not changeNOTE:
For component location, refer to: Repair Instructions
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B34A Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B34B Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B34E Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 5
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B34F Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 6
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- If the parameter value changes
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal (s) / Electrical Connector (s)
- Go to next step: If the parameter value does not change
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
