Removal Procedure

    Using the appropriate trim tool, remove the windshield wiper arm finish caps (1) from the windshield wiper arms (3).

  2. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Remove [2x]
  3. Grasp the outer end of the windshield wiper arms (3) and gently rock the arms back and forth to remove it from the windshield wiper transmission pivot shafts.
  4. Windshield Wiper Arm (3) - Remove [2x]

    Apply two layers of masking tape around the top edge of the service part to prevent paint damage.

  6. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully release the air inlet grille panel extension clips.
  7. Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension (1) - Remove [2x]

    Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

  9. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) - Remove [2x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [6x]

  11. Disconnect the windshield washer nozzle hose from the windshield washer pump hose.
  12. Lift the front edge of the air inlet grille panel (2) and slide the panel forward from both hood hinges to remove.

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Remove

  14. NOTE:

    To prevent erroneous DTC's, disconnect the battery negative cable before disconnecting the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.

  15. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.

  17. Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
  18. Slide the windshield wiper system module (2) inboard to release the grommet from the plenum and remove the windshield wiper system module from the vehicle.

    Instrument Panel Carrier (1) - Remove - Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (without Head Up Display) , or Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (with Head Up Display)

    Air Distributor Duct Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  21. Unclip the harness from the instrument panel center air outlet duct.

    Air Distributor Duct Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  27. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    NOTE:

    Typical wiring harness shown. Individual wiring harnesses may differ based on option content.

    Disconnect the electrical connectors. (1)

    Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.

  36. Loosen the fastener and slide the bracket out of the keyhole slot. (1)

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Brace Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  40. Front Compartment Fuse Block Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Remove

  43. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (2) - Remove [6x]
  44. Note the location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removal to ensure proper installation.
  45. Disconnect the wiring harness from the instrument panel tie bar assembly.
  46. Support the heater and air conditioning and evaporator blower module.

    With the aid of an assistant, remove the instrument panel tie bar assembly from the vehicle. (1)

    Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Upper and Blow Lower Case Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  49. Programmable Temperature Valve Actuator- Right Side (2) - Remove
  50. Disconnect the electrical connector.
