Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the Q46 Air Conditioning Compressor Solenoid Valve. Connect a test light between terminals 1 and 2 of the connector. Ignition ON.
- Verify the test light turns on and off when commanding the Q46 Air Conditioning Compressor Solenoid Valve ON and OFF with the scan tool.
- If the test light does not turn ON and OFF
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
- Test the circuits listed below for a short to voltage:
- Circuit 7573
- Circuit 7574
- If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found
- Ignition OFF.
- Test the circuits listed below for a short to ground:
- Circuit 7573
- Circuit 7574
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
- Test the circuits listed below for an open/high resistance:
- Circuit 7573
- Circuit 7574
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
Go to next step: Replace the K9 Body Control Module
- Go to next step: If the test light turns ON and OFF
- Test the Q46 Air Conditioning Compressor Solenoid Valve or replace the G1 Air Conditioning Compressor.
