Circuit/System Testing

DTC B19A1
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 connector at the K219 Lighting Control Module, ignition ON:
- Verify the E42L Rear Body Structure Stop Lamp - Left is not illuminated.
- If park lamp is illuminated
Repair the short to voltage on circuit 6993.
- Go to next step: If the park lamp is not illuminated
- If park lamp is illuminated
- Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between B+ and terminal 6 at the X5 connector:
- Verify the park lamp is illuminated.
- If the park is not illuminated and the jumper fuse is OK
- Test circuit 2550 for an open/high resistance:
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit or ground connection.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Test circuit 2550 for an open/high resistance.
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
- Replace the E42L Rear Body Structure Stop Lamp - Left.
- If the park lamp is not illuminated and the jumper fuse is open
- Test circuit 6993 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
- Replace the E42L Rear Body Structure Stop Lamp - Left.
- Go to next step: If the park lamp is illuminated
- Replace the K219 Lighting Control Module.
DTC B19A2
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 connector at the K219 Lighting Control Module, ignition ON:
- Verify the E42R Rear Body Structure Stop Lamp - Right is not illuminated.
- If park lamp is illuminated
Repair the short to voltage on circuit 6995.
- Go to next step: If the park lamp is not illuminated
- If park lamp is illuminated
- Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between B+ and terminal 2 at the X5 connector:
- Verify the park lamp is illuminated.
- If the park is not illuminated and the jumper fuse is OK
- Test circuit 1650 for an open/high resistance:
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit or ground connection.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Test circuit 6995 for an open/high resistance.
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
- Replace the E42R Rear Body Structure Stop Lamp - Right.
- If the park lamp is not illuminated and the jumper fuse is open
- Test circuit 6995 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
- Replace the E42R Rear Body Structure Stop Lamp - Right.
- Go to next step: If the park lamp is illuminated
- Replace the K219 Lighting Control Module.
