Installation Procedure

  1. GM5591894
    CAUTION:

    Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.

    Ensure the phenolic spacer (3) remains in place.

  2. Engine Mount (2) - Install
  3. Use the screw jack to lower the engine onto the engine mount.
  4. Remove the screw jack and the block of wood.
  5. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
  6. Oil Filter - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  7. Remove the drain pan.

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (2) - Install

    9. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  9. Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  11. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  12. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  13. GM5396453

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  14. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  15. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  16. GM5396438

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

  17. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  18. Lower the vehicle.

    Start the 2 NEW engine mount bolts (2) by hand.

    20. CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  20. Engine Mount Bolt (2) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  21. Engine Mount Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  22. Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil.
  23. Connect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
