Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. GM5750845

    Engine Mount Nut (1) - Remove

  3. Engine Mount Bolt (2) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]

    NOTE:

    Upper engine mount bracket bolt is easier to remove from the top.

    Engine Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD

  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]

  7. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove

  9. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove
  10. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Remove
  11. GM5396496

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Remove

  12. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove
  13. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove
  14. GM5420502

    Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  15. Front Compartment Air Deflector (2) - Remove
  16. GM5591895

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

  17. CAUTION:

    When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Lifting the engine in an unapproved manner may cause component damage.

  18. Position a screw jack and a block of wood under the transmission bell-housing.
  19. Use the screw jack to raise the engine just enough to remove the engine mount.
  20. Engine Mount (2) - Remove
  21. CAUTION:

    Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.

  22. Ensure the phenolic spacer (3) remains in place.
  23. Wiring Harness Retainer @ Engine Mount Bracket - Remove

    Engine Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [3x]

    Engine Mount Bracket (1) - Remove
