Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. GM5427515

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) @ Air Cleaner Assembly - Remove [4x]

  3. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (2) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  4. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (3) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  5. Electrical Connector (4) - Disconnect [2x]

    Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Remove

  7. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Loosen
  8. GM5427525

    Remove the air cleaner (1) and air cleaner outlet duct (2) as an assembly.

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  10. GM5309997

    Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Remove

  11. GM5591956

    Water Pump Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  12. Water Pump Cover (2) - Remove
  13. GM5491648

    Engine Mount Nut (1) - Remove

  14. GM5491651

    Engine Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [4x]

  15. GM5314511

    Retainer Spring (1) - Release

  16. Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger (3) - Reposition
  17. Remove harness retainer.

    Engine Mount Bracket (1) - Remove

  19. CAUTION:

    Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.

  20. Ensure the phenolic spacer remains in place.
