Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

CAUTION:

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    NOTE:

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage integral tabs on caro tie down loop bolt cap

    Cargo Tie Down Loop Bolt Cap (1) - Remove [2x]

  3. Cargo Tie Down Loop Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  4. Cargo Tie Down Loop (3) - Remove [2x]

    Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim (1) - Remove

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage integral tabs on rear end trim finish panel opening cover (1).

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, disengage the integral clips.

    NOTE:

    Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to remove the push-in retainers.

    Rear Compartment Floor Stowage Compartment Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]

  11. Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim (2) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Carefully manipulate the deck lid hinge opening of the rear compartment side trim past the hinge cover.

    Rear Compartment Side Trim Insulator Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

  13. Rear Compartment Side Trim-Left Side (2) - Reposition

    Release the 2 sunroof housing rear drain hose clips (1).

  15. Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose (2) @ Quarter Inner Panel Extension - Disconnect

    Fold the assist handle downward and hold. (2)

  17. Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts.
  18. Roof Rail Rear Assist Handle Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) - Remove

  21. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2) - Remove

    Pull the trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retainers.

  23. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) - Reposition

    Fold the rear seat back to the downward position.

  25. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap (1) - Remove
  26. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt (2) - Remove

    Disengage the retainers, starting at the front and working rearward.

  28. NOTE:

    The Quarter Upper Trim Panel does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.

  29. Quarter Upper Trim Panel (1) - Reposition

    Lower the left rear section of the headlining trim panel (1).

    Reposition the wiring harness.

  32. Release the sunroof housing rear drain hose clip (1).

    Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose (2) @ Sunroof Housing Drain Gutter (1) - Disconnect

  34. Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose (2) - Remove
