Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Advanced parking assist uses B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensors along the vehicle's front, rear and sides to detect a parking spot, track the vehicle's position and help the driver park. The system will automatically steer the vehicle into a detected spot while the vehicle is moving at idle speed. It does this by using automatic steering and braking, while the driver is responsible for selecting Forward and Reverse gears and removing their hands from the steering wheel as instructed. The driver must always be prepared to apply braking and additional acceleration.

The advanced parking assist switch is part of the S26 Hazard Warning Switch. It is a normally open switch that closes when the switch is pressed. The K9 Body Control Module monitors the switch on signal circuit 3161 and the switch receives a constant ground on ground circuit 1450. When the advanced parking assist switch is not pressed, the switch is open and signal voltage observed by the K9 Body Control Module is high. When the advanced parking assist switch is pressed, the switch is closed and signal voltage observed by the K9 Body Control Module is low.
