Adjustment Procedure

- Close the front side door, noting any of the following:
- Improper door alignment to door opening, drag causing the door to move up/down upon contact with the striker.
- Excessive closing efforts to engage the door latch.
Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs from the outboard edge of the front side door latch striker cover (1).
- Front Side Door Latch Striker Cover (1) - Remove
Use a grease pencil to mark the original location of the front side door latch striker (2).
- Front Side Door Latch Striker Bolt (1) - Loosen [2x]
- Reposition the front side door latch striker (2) in the up/down direction to eliminate drag, ensuring proper door alignment to the door opening is maintained.
- Reposition the front side door latch striker (2) in the in/out direction for proper door seal engagement, ensuring door closing efforts are correct.
- Front Side Door Latch Striker Bolt (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Using a clean towel and isopropyl alcohol, remove the grease pencil markings.
Front Side Door Latch Striker Cover (1) - Install
- Insert the inboard front side door latch striker cover retaining tabs into the front side door latch striker.
- Press the outboard front side door latch striker cover retaining tabs into place, ensuring the front side door latch striker cover (1) is fully seated.
NOTE:
Ensure the front side door is properly aligned to the door opening before proceeding with the front side door latch striker adjustment.
