Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

    Engine Front Cover (1) - Remove - Engine Front Cover Removal and Installation

    Retaining Clip (1) - Remove

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Remove

  5. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
  6. Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe (3) - Remove

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Rear Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]

  9. Rear Tire Front Air Deflector- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side (1) - Remove

  11. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Remove [3x]
  12. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (3) - Remove [3x]
  13. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (4) - Remove [2x]
  14. Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Remove

    Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Right Side (1) - Remove

  16. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (2) - Remove [3x]
  17. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (3) - Remove [3x]
  18. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (4) - Remove [2x]
  19. Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Remove

    Floor Panel Number 4 Cross Bar Reinforcement Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  21. Floor Panel Reinforcement (2) - Remove

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

    Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Loosen [2x]

    Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Insulator-Left Side (2) - Separate [2x]

    Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Insulator-Right Side (2) - Separate [2x]

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

    Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [4x]

    With the aid of an assistant, remove the exhaust muffler (1).

  30. Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [5x]

  32. Catalytic Converter Brace (2) - Remove
  33. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.[2x]

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Remove [4x]

    Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter (1) - Remove

  36. Turbocharger Exhaust Pipe Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove

    Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Remove

    Positive Assurance Cap (1) - Reposition

  40. Using a suitable tool, remove the turbocharger oil feed pipe fitting clip (2).

    Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Bolt (1) - Remove

  42. Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Washer (2) - Remove and DISCARD
  43. Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe (3) - Remove

    • Disconnect from block and leave connected to turbocharger.

    Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  46. Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Remove

  48. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) @ Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
  49. Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe (3) @ Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger - Separate

    Turbocharger Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

    Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger (1) - Remove

  52. Turbocharger Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Cylinder Head Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]

  54. Cylinder Head Bolt (2) - Remove and DISCARD [8x]
  55. Cylinder Head - Left Side (3) - Remove
  56. GM2202036

    Cylinder Head Gasket (1) - Remove and DISCARD
