Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Remove the oil fill cap.

    Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  4. Lift up on the front of the intake manifold cover (2).

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Remove

  6. GM5456746

    Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Remove

  7. GM5456829

    Intake Manifold Cover Insulator (1) - Remove

    Fuel Feed Pipe Bolt (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump - Remove

    WARNING:

    Refer to Diesel/Gasoline Vapors Warning .

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

    Using the J-41769  Fuel Line Quick Disconnect Tool, disconnect and reposition the fuel feed pipe (1).

  10. Evaporative Emission Pipe (2) - Disconnect and reposition

    Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (1) - Disconnect and reposition

  12. Retainer (2) - Unclip [3x]
  13. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (3) - Reposition

    Throttle Body Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

  15. GM5504108

    Engine Wiring Harness Bolt (1) - Remove

  16. Electrical Connector (2) - Disconnect [2x]
  17. Retainer (3) - Unclip [4x]
  18. Engine Wiring Harness (4) - Reposition

    Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  20. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Remove
  21. GM5507437

    Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  22. Intake Manifold Cover Stud (2) - Remove [3x]
  23. GM5507441

    Upper Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Remove

  24. GM5517201

    Oil Level Indicator Tube Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

  25. Oil Level Indicator Tube (2) - Remove

    Retainer Spring (1) - Release

  27. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Throttle Body (3) - Remove

    Retainer (1) - Unclip

    Intake Manifold Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  30. GM5507557

    Intake Manifold (1) - Remove

  31. GM5509155

    Throttle Body Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  32. Throttle Body (2) - Remove
  33. Throttle Body Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
  34. GM5045008

    Intake Manifold Insulator Nut (2) - Remove [4x]

  35. Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Remove
  36. Intake Manifold Gasket (3) - Remove and DISCARD [4x]
  37. Crankcase Vent Passage Seal (4) - Remove and DISCARD
  38. Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor Bolt (6) - Remove
  39. Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor (5) - Remove
  40. Intake Manifold Cover Stud (7) - Remove [2x]
