Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Set the parking brake in Service Mode. Parking Brake Service Mode Selection
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  4. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    Disconnect the electronic suspension rear vertical accelerometer electrical connector (1).

  6. Unclip the 2 electronic suspension rear vertical accelerometer retainers (2).

    Unclip the 3 electronic suspension rear vertical accelerometer retainers (1).

  8. Have an assistant apply the brakes.

    CAUTION:

    DO NOT use air tools to remove the wheel drive shaft nut. Damage to the wheel drive shaft threads could occur. Use hand tools only.

    Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Nut (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Install the DT-45859  Axle Remover (1) to the rear wheel hub and secure with 3 wheel nuts (2) hand tightened.

  11. Using the DT-45859  Axle Remover (1), release the rear wheel drive shaft from the rear wheel hub.
  12. Remove the 3 wheel nuts (2) and the DT-45859  Axle Remover (1) from the rear wheel hub.

    CAUTION:

    Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak.

    NOTE:

    Do NOT disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper.

    Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

  14. Remove the rear brake caliper and bracket (2) and support with heavy mechanics wire.
  15. Rear Wheel Drive Shaft @ Rear Wheel Hub - Separate

    Rear Brake Rotor Bolt (1) - Remove

    Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Remove

    Rear Wheel Hub Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

    NOTE:

    The rear brake shield (2) will become dislodged when the rear wheel hub (1) is removed.

    Rear Wheel Hub (1) - Remove

    Electronic Suspension Rear Vertical Accelerometer Bolt (1) - Remove
